Events:

The Santa Cruz Club has a long and event filled history. In years past, the club attended all types of British Car events from shows to the historic races. We often had 10 to 20 cars to show up for these classic car activities.

If you want to attend an event, it is extremely important that you notify Bill Meade by e-mail (billmeade@charter.net) as soon as possible so that he can see how many people want to participate in each event. If people wait until the last minute to register, the event could be canceled because not enough people expressed interest.

The following is the tentative schedule subject to change due to weather:
Red events indicate ones the club normally participates.
Bold Black indicates some optional events members can choose to attend or lead a club group. If you want to ad or lead any event call Bill Meade 831-722-3253.

May 15, 2011 Sunday, Danville, CA MG's By The Bay for all classic MG cars. 8am to 3 pm. This is the eighteenth annual show and attracts over one hundred MG cars. From I-680 take the Sycamore Valley Road exit and head west one block, crossing San Ramon Valley Blvd. The Danville Livery Shopping Center is on the right, at the corner of Sycamore & San Ramon. www.mgoc.org or contact Mike Jacobsen at MikesMuseum@yahoo.com.
May 7, 2011 Saturday, Vintage Car Autocross “Brutes & Beauts” at Great America Theme Park Parking lot annex (enter through Centennial Blvd. gate) in Santa Clara Starts at 8 am, $25 entrant fee. June 26, 2011 Sunday, Palo Alto Concours For all classic cars. For all makes and models of classics. There is usually a good turn out of British cars. July 10, 2011 Monterey County Scenic Tour. Drtiving from the Chevron station at Route 129 and Route 1 heading south into some of Monterey's beautiful scenic roads with a stop for a light lunch 10:00 am depart Watsonville, return about 3:00 pm.. August 19-21 2011 Saturday and Sunday, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Featuring Jaguare this year. www..mazdaraceway.com for info on the weekend. This is the official Historic Race Weekend. Lots of crowds and great historic car displays. The club does not try to drive as a group due to large crowds, waiting lines and high prices ($65-$95) However, you are urged to attend the races, auctions and Pebble Beach Concours to see the best collection of cars in the world.
August 16, 2011 Tuesday, Carmel -By-The-Sea Concours on the Avenue This is a free show (for spectators) during the Monterey Historics week.. Unfortunately, they have instituted a $250 entrant fee for anyone to show a car. This could likely kill the event as most past cars showing were not high end. Contact: www.motorclubevents.com. A nice, inexpensive way to enjoy Carmel and Classic cars for free. Bill Meade 831-722-3253 will be driving down on Tuesday and could caravan down if others are interested.
August. 28, 2011 Sunday, Hillsborough, CA Concours D'Elegance at Crystal Springs Golf Course for all classic cars. This is considered one of the areas top shows. Nice luncheon served to participants. September 10, 2011 Saturday, Byington Winery Tour and Picnic Our member, Nancy McCroskey (blue Sprite) has 30 certificates for wine tasting at Byington Winery and is inviting our club and the Healey club to get together and enjoy this winery visit as her treat and have an enjoyable group picnic afterwards. Our Santa Cruz club will meet at Fin's Coffee at 1104 Ocean St. SC at 9:00 am, Saturday Sept. 10. to drive over to Byington Winery near Los Gatos. Tour and welcoming dinner on Saturday with the concours show and 26 silver awards on Sunday. We need additional key people to help run the show and awards.
